Earth Day Network Campaign works year round to solve climate change, to end plastic Pollution, to protect endangered species and to broaden, educate, and activate the environmental movement across the globe.
Earth Day aims to inspire awareness and appreciation for its environment. In the United Nation, They called the event International Mother Earth Day. Two similar global events are observed on Earth Day. Some people celebrate the earth day at the time of March equinox while others on April 22 each year.
How does Earth Day begin?
Senator Gaylord Nelson founded the April 22 as Earth Day. It was first celebrated in 1970 to promote ecology and respect for life on the planet as well as to encourage awareness of the growing problems of air, water, and soil pollution.
The height of counterculture in the United States, 1970 Americans were slurping leaded gas through massive V8 sedans. Also, Industry belched out smoke and sludge with little fear of legal consequences or bad press. Soon, Air pollution was commonly accepted as the smell of prosperity. The word “Environment” often appeared in spelling bees than on the evening news.
In 1970, the public raised voice to that emerging consciousness that channelling the energy of the anti-war protest movement and putting environmental concerns on the front page.
By today, Earth day has now become a global event each year in which Millennium agreed to spearhead the campaign, to focus on global warming and a push for clean energy. It symbolizes a day of political action and civic participation where people engaged themselves in marching, sign petitions, meet with their elected officials, plant trees, clean up their towns and roads.
